Where is the studio ?
The BAMBER shop + studio are located in a wooden building alongside Winchmore Hill railway station.
You can find us by walking left out the station, through the big metal gates and past all the plant pots :-)
Do you offer classes or workshops ?
We run private hand-building workshops for 6-8 people, which take place on most Thursday-Saturdays throughout the year. We also have a weekly studio membership programme called Pottery Club, where members can come in from 11-3 on Sundays to make and glaze their own work.
Members have access to all our studio equipment, tools and glazes, and all work made will be fired. To make a private booking, to book a space at our Pottery Club or for more info, you can head to the "Memberships" page or send me an email :-)
Do you run kids workshops ?
Unfortunately we are unable to host anyone under the age of 18 at our workshops or classes, due to limitations in the studio's current insurance. As an alternative, we have some make-at-home-kits available in the Winchmore Hill shop, so you can take home some clay along with tools and instructions on how to make your own pots at home, and bring them in to be fired and glazed.
Do you offer a firing service ?
We are currently hiring out the kiln for £18/shelf for Cone 04 bisque firings and Cone 5 glaze firings. If you would like to have any work fired at the studio, please get in touch + we can have a chat about the clays + glazes you've used to make sure they're safe to fire at these settings :-)
Are you taking commissions at the mo ?
Depending on my work schedule I don't always have time to accept commission work, but it is always something I am open to (within reason)!
If you would like a custom piece (whether that is something that you've seen me make before which is now sold out, an adaptation of another piece or something completely new), please send an commission enquiry to my email address listed above and I will do my best to get back to you soon :-)
Please note that as commission work takes more time to organise and create, prices may be higher than other work I have readily available.
How will my order be packaged ?
We use paper tape, biodegradable packing peanuts and either eco bubblewrap or paper hive-wrap , and boxes made from recycled cardboard to package all our orders. Ceramics is generally quite a wasteful practice so we are eco-conscious wherever possible !
