POTTERY CLUB !

Here you can book your space at BAMBER’s Pottery Club ! This is a monthly membership, which gives you access to making, glazing and firing your own ceramic pieces at our hand-building studio.

For £160 a month, your membership will include:

  • 16 hours studio time - Sundays, 11am-3pm (the first four Sundays of each month)

  • 6kg clay (terracotta or buff white)

  • Bisque firing for all items

  • Glazing for 6 items

  • Access to all the studio’s hand-building tools, glazes and underglazes

  • Tea + Coffee :-)

Additional costs:

  • Extra glazing (£2-10 depending on the size of the piece)

  • Extra clay (£5 / kg)

Unlike our pottery evenings (which focus on making your pots), Pottery Club allows you complete freedom to make and glaze your pieces however you’d like. The monthly fee of £160 breaks down to £10 per hour, which covers all firing costs, along with 6kg clay and glazing for 6 pieces.

Typically, I run the kiln twice a week - once for a bisque fire and another for a glaze firing. This means that any pots made in the last session of your membership will be bisque fired, and not glazed. I would therefore recommend for any pieces you intend to glaze to be made before your last session.

Please note !

  • Available for people aged 18 and over ! Similar to the pottery evenings, BAMBER is unable to cater for anyone under 18, due to the studio’s insurance policy.

  • These are non-instructional and self-led hand-building sessions. I will be around + happy to help answer any questions and give advice, but will be working during the session hours, and making my own things  :-)

  • The studio has a range of glaze colours, suitable for both terracotta and white/buff clay available for use. We also have the following selection of underglaze colours - black, white, red, orange, yellow, electric blue and two types of green. These colours can be mixed similar to regular paints, but you are also welcome to bring along your own underglazes :-)

  • You are welcome to bring along and use your own clay and glazes. To be fired as part of your membership, these must be fireable within Cone 05-04, or Cone 5 firing ranges (1030-1065  or  1190 degrees celsius). If you wish to fire your work outside of these ranges, you can hire out the whole kiln at an additional cost.

  • Members will be required to tidy up after themselves at the end of each session. The tables are situated in the BAMBER shop area, where customers may come and go throughout the day, and where work by BAMBER and other featured makers is displayed. Any broken or damaged items must be paid for, so please be careful and don’t go throwing clay around >:-)

  • Members should be respectful of others using the space, as well as the space itself.

Bookings can be made through the Eventbrite page linked here, or if you’d like to book without the Eventbrite fees, please send an email or come to the shop + I can send my bank details and a booking confirmation.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to send me an email or come by the shop. We’re open 10-5 every Wednesday-Sunday and I’m happy to help if I can !
